Artist-Designed Graphic Hoodies
Mythical Merch is an independent art collective founded in Cleveland, Ohio. For more than 13 years, we have worked with artists to transform original illustrations into clothing, enamel pins and other collectible artwork.
Our graphic hoodies feature designs by Erin Barnhart, Carissa Williams, Mike Snowadzky and the Mythical Merch team. The collection moves through psychedelic landscapes, mushroom worlds, music culture, horror, meditation, nature and character mashups that tend to require more explanation than a small logo over the heart.
Some designs are printed on traditional pullover sweatshirts, while others use an all-over-print athletic hoodie as their canvas. Both approaches allow the artwork to occupy more of the garment than a standard one-sided graphic hoodie.
Two-Sided Pullover Hoodies
Many of our hooded sweatshirts use a traditional cotton-polyester pullover with artwork printed on both the front and back. These hoodies are made from a 50/50 blend of soft cotton and polyester with medium-heavy 8-ounce fabric.
They have a loose fit, a front pouch pocket and a pre-shrunk construction intended to help reduce unexpected size changes after washing. The high-stitch-density fabric provides a smooth surface for detailed, colorful printing.
Depending on the design, sizes may extend from S through 5XL, with some styles also offering XS. Color availability varies, so check the product page to see which combinations are offered for a particular piece of artwork.
The front-and-back format gives our artists room to separate related elements or continue an idea across the garment. It also means the person behind you gets something to look at, which feels considerate.
All-Over-Print Athletic Hoodies
Selected designs are available on unisex all-over-print hoodies made from 95% recycled polyester and 5% spandex. The fabric has stretch and a medium weight of approximately 7.5 ounces per square yard.
These hoodies use the entire garment as part of the composition. Artwork can continue across the body, sleeves and hood instead of being confined to a printable area on the front or back.
The all-over styles include a flat black drawstring, a sewn-in size and care label, a custom interior label and seam thread selected to coordinate with the artwork. Sizes run from XS–4XL on the designs currently using this garment.
Because these hoodies have a different fabric, shape and printing method from our cotton-blend pullovers, do not assume that the same size will fit identically in both styles. Compare the chest width, body length and sleeve measurements before ordering.
Psychedelic, Music and Alternative Hoodies
Our collection includes psychedelic hoodies, mushroom sweatshirts, music-inspired designs, horror artwork, meditation themes and alternative streetwear. Several designs also overlap with jam-band, EDM and festival culture.
Erin Barnhart’s artwork brings together mushrooms, horror and surreal characters. Carissa Williams contributes meditative, music-inspired and character-based pieces, while Mike Snowadzky’s work explores space, symbolism, nature and technology.
Including the artist’s name in the product title helps customers identify the person behind the illustration and find related work throughout the Mythical Merch catalog. We want the artwork to remain connected to its creator rather than appearing as if it materialized anonymously onto a sweatshirt.
Choosing the Right Hoodie
Start by deciding which construction you prefer.
Choose a traditional two-sided pullover if you want a familiar cotton-blend sweatshirt, loose fit and front pouch pocket. Choose an all-over-print hoodie if you prefer stretch fabric and artwork that continues across more of the garment.
Then compare the measurements with a hoodie you already own:
Lay your hoodie flat without stretching it.
Measure across the chest from one side to the other.
Measure from the highest shoulder point to the bottom hem.
Measure the sleeve from its starting seam to the cuff.
Compare those numbers with the chart on the product page.
Flat garment width is not the same as body circumference. A 24-inch width generally represents approximately 48 inches around the garment before accounting for construction and ease.
If you plan to layer the hoodie over another sweatshirt or heavier shirt, allow additional room. Choosing a size based only on height or a usual T-shirt size is less reliable than comparing actual garment measurements.
Hoodies for Festivals, Concerts and Everyday Wear
Graphic hoodies are useful for outdoor concerts and festivals where temperatures drop after sunset. They can be worn over a T-shirt or tank top and tied around the waist when the day is warmer.
The traditional cotton-blend hoodies provide a heavier, familiar sweatshirt feel. The recycled-polyester all-over styles offer stretch and broader artwork coverage. Neither should be treated as waterproof outerwear, so bring an appropriate jacket or poncho when the forecast suggests that the sky has other plans.
Beyond events, these designs work as casual clothing, alternative streetwear and wearable art. Pair them with graphic joggers, leggings, jeans or a relatively quiet pair of pants willing to let the hoodie handle the conversation.
Caring for Your Graphic Hoodie
Turn printed hoodies inside out before washing to reduce friction against the artwork. Use cold water with similar colors and avoid bleach. Excessive dryer heat can be hard on both printed graphics and synthetic stretch fibers, so follow the care label attached to your specific hoodie.
The two garment styles use different fabrics, and their care instructions may not be identical. Following the label inside the garment is more reliable than treating every hoodie in the collection the same way.
